Archives

We have started to put on line the Archives of Maestro Claudio Abbado, as we had promised! It does not reflect our intentions completely, it will be enlarged shortly, but we wanted to start before Christmas, in order to offer this small present to our members! Check the On line Archives for the first time!

Our work includes:

Research has been done accurately and enthusiastically by our members (and friends) Deda Pedrazzini e Silvana Patrini: they have not only checked and organized all documents that C.A.I. already had, or that other members had sent in, but also gone to all libraries in Milan, to look for press articles that concern every single performance, and have found recordings from the early part of Maestro Abbado's career. Their work is the biggest contribution that our association has received up to now. Without their help we would not be able to say that today we have one of the most important archives devoted to Maestro Abbado's career, and consequently we would not have started to put on line the information we have, making it available to everybody.

We also want to thank our German member Rosemary Rippberger (from Mainz) , who has provided an inc#edac01ible number of documents about the activities of Maestro Abbado abroad and of foreign press articles. Hers, too, has been a fundamental contribution!
We ask all members to follow Rosemary's example: if you have documents about Claudio Abbado's carrier that can be of interest, make a copy and send it to us.

Thank you for your help in building the first on line Claudio Abbado Archive.
