CAI
The idea of the CAI was born in 1981 in a bar in Pavia where a small group of loyal admirers of Claudio Abbado (already then) gathered following one of his concerts in the Teatro Fraschini. That was the first journey... not very far from Milan (approx. 30 km.), but already filled with the same enthusiasm and friendship that caracterizies us to this day. The CAI today that are about 400 members from all countries Italy, of course, but also Germany, France, Switzerland, Spain, United Kingdom, Austria as well as Australia, Russia, Japan (with a small group of 10 members), Argentine, USA... The CAI stands also for thousands of documents of all nature and concerning all the aspects of Claudio Abbado’s career from the first concerts to the current Lucerne Festival, containing extremely rare recordings, a real documentation centre for those who admire the skills of Claudio Abbado and share his so open vision of culture and the arts.
